The test was introduced over a century ago, and since that time it has gone through many different names and formats. The current name, SAT Reasoning Test, was introduced in 2005, along with a new system of scoring. The SAT Test College Board charge $45 for the test, which is administered by the Educational Testing Service.
The duration of the SAT test exam lasts for three hours and forty-five minutes, and is divided into three sections. These sections are math, critical reading and writing, and each is given a score of 800 points. The College Board is adamant that College SAT testing is essential to determine whether a student is ready to enter college, because they claim that without the necessary numeracy and literacy skills, the student will gain no benefit from the college courses themselves.
