It wasn’t all that long ago when the Jewish Internet Dating Service was frowned upon by the older folks in Jewish families, especially those of the grandparent generation. But the world changes you know, whether we like it or not. Technology has transformed just about everything in the way we humans live our life’s. Lifestyle changes say some people that are not always for the better. Internet dating, relationships conducted over mobile phones, sports played on computers, and a generation of geeks that have to a large extent become lacking in socialisation skills. And if all this is not bad enough, technology has taken away the need for us to move and interact like we used to, and as a consequence we have become a nation of couch potatoes so much so that obesity has evolved as the number 1 health risk in modern society. It’s little wonder then why the older Jewish community (and all other communities that can remember the time where we interacted in the real world), are so against this strange new world where high street products and new fangled equipment do for us what we used to do for ourselves. Heck, it won’t be long before we can send our hologram on a date so that we don’t have to make the effort!
