First home owners would have nothing but carpets on their floors, then eventually the pile was competing with the woods and laminates, and now we’re beginning to see stone surfaces in the family real estate. Stones were once considered too regal for most humble dwellings and usually adorned the floors of mansions and palaces where space was of the essence. This was certainly the case with Marble Floor Tiles and granites. Then the other notion was that stone surfaces were too cold and drab. However, thanks to the imaginative minds of home decorators and designers, people have been able to see just how well stones can work in small spaces, and how beautiful they can look when done right. Not only this, but although the initial cost of stone can be quite expensive, it is a look that is timeless, will not wear out, will not get damaged (or certainly unlikely), and it’s easier to clean than both wood and fabric, and a lot more hygienic than any carpet or rug could ever be. Marbles and granites (the latter being more popular for bathrooms), are becoming so sought after that many DIY Superstores are setting up display areas for shoppers to view, feel, and discuss before committing.
