If you are considering taking some acupuncture for either an physical or mental ailment, then you have probably heard of something about The Acupuncture Meridians. So just What are these Acupuncture Meridians? Put simply, they are the invisible channels through which qi circulates throughout the body. The name is taken from the Chinese term “jing luo” which when translated roughly means channels. The Meridians are the exact locations on the body where the qi of the channels rises closest to the surface of the human body. There are a total 12 main meridian points known as Ying and Yang and also a network of more minor points. For a healthy body, it is said that the Chi flows freely through the meridians. When there are problems with the body, it does not. So it is the job of a trained acupuncturist to bring back this balance, and with it repair the physical, spiritual, or mental health of the patient, whatever the damage happens to be. But does this work, is there evidence, or is it just the hype of hocus-pocus?
